Just needed to do something different from all the Savior stuff. This my take on Superboy and Tim as Nightwing. This was my first go at using markers. It came out okay. I used my micron pens on this one. Learned a really good lesson with this too: blue pencil shows through markers. It took a lot of photoshopping to get the sketch lines out.
Thanks. Yeah, it didn't occur to me until I finished it. Then I thought about how I adjust the levels and the light would just disappear. Sure enough, when I tried it that's exactly what happened. I couldn't get the black as dark as it really is because of that.
Ah yes, adjusting the levels seems to fix a lot of things on scanned images. Too bad about bringing back more of the darkness from the black marker though.
Still, it came out great, wouldn't have known it ever had blue pencil in there myself.
I think the designs are really cool. It would be nice if the Superboy design in the comics was a bit more hero-esque I guess you could say. I think your design leans a little more toward the hero uniform instead of the casual.

This newsletter was "born" back in March 2007, from a conversation between ~Lareth and =FrozenStarRo, who with the help of their friends *Iardacil and =Sylwiaa , wanted to make something to promote known and unknown photomanipulators alike here on DeviantArt. As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same. As of recent, the talented =Behana has joined us in bringing you this weekly newsletter and we are excited to have her on board. This is a special feature, with a selection of 50 manips from the past year that we loved.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
